Jamie Curtis

Board President (USA)

Jamie currently serves as Grant Administrator for the Michigan Energy Assistance Program at The State of Michigan, where she provides oversight and coordination for all facets of the statewide program operations. She was previously the Director of Energy Assistance at The Salvation Army. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in History with a minor in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. After working in retail management for more than a dozen years, she started a family with her husband, Jason. They currently reside in Coopersville, MI with their daughters, Annabella and Lillian. Jamie is the current LOCODI US Board President. 

Lori Cox

Board Vice President (USA)

Lori grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and currently lives there with her husband and two sons. She has a Bachelor’s in English from Western Michigan University and works from home writing resumes, drafting employee handbooks and summarizing depositions. Her love of children is shown as she volunteers at her son’s school every week to read and interact with kindergartners. She has previously spent time as a high school assistant cross country and track coach, as well as a youth group leader. She has known Beckie and Ruudy for many years, and is happy to be able to support all their hard work in this way.

Rebecca Olupot

Chairperson (Uganda)

Beckie and her husband Ruudy are the the inspiration for Loveworld Foundation Inc. Beckie is a missionary in Soroti, Uganda. She and Ruudy began a community based organization called LoCoDI, which is short for Loveworld Community Development Initiative, there in 2013, the same year they were married. Their lives are dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus to students and young people and helping them to grow in their faith. Beckie graduated from Gordon College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She was born and grew up in Grand Rapids, MI. In 2020 Beckie and Ruudy began fostering Boaz and hope to complete the adoption process in 2021. Ruudy, Beckie and Boaz live with any number of young people at any given time.

Egelu Paul

General Secretary (Uganda)

Mr. Egelu Paul has a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and Environmental Conservation. He is married and has three children. He is passionate about the orphan and the widow and spends a sizable amount of his time and resources on these. He is an elder in his church in Uganda and currently serves our board as the General Secretary of the LOCODI Uganda Board.

Sheryl Maat

Treasurer (USA)

Sheryl grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and currently resides in Spokane, WA. She has a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Whitworth University, and works at Washington Trust Bank in Commercial Real Estate. She oversees all financial activity and bookkeeping for Loveworld while also volunteering as a finance coach at a Women’s Addiction Recovery Program at Anna Ogden Hall and for Habitat for Humanity. Sheryl and her husband, Ray, are members of First Presbyterian Church of Spokane where she volunteers as a finance committee member. They have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Sheryl enjoys reading, hiking, and completing home renovation projects with her husband.
